As mentioned in the intro post, this site is intended to be a go to resource for all information pertaining to the  Z7 bow. As such, this review is not based on personal experience of any one  individual but has been compiled after much research on forums, blogs, e commerce sites, info sites, etc. Thus, what you read below is the general opinion of those who have used this compound bow.

This information will be most useful to those who are currently considering to purchase the new Mathews Z7 compound bow but of course everyone who is interested in this bow will find this information very useful. The following attributes have been observed my most people who have had the chance to either test it or use it regularly

User Observations

  • Most people say that the pull is the smoothest they have ever experienced
  • The look of the riser is not at all popular but it does its job extremely well. Those who use it find that it grows on them and they don’t really care how it looks once they have shot some arrows with the z7 bow
  • With the exception of a few, the majority finds this bow to be very quiet.
  • Some people have mentioned that the Z7 has a nice wall for a solo cam.
  • Again, this is another winner for the Z7. We have not found anyone yet who has to say that this bow vibrates. This bow is DEAD IN THE HANDS. The Dead End String Stop has been highly applauded for this.
  • Some people have also applauded the reverse roller guard.
  • The new grip on this hunting bow has been much welcomed among hunting fans
  • The bow has been found to perform consistently for a diverse range of  arrows.
  • The bow is light however not as light as most people had anticipated. There are lighter bows on the market

Mathews Z7 Features

Parallel Limb Design

cancels recoil and vibration resulting in a smoother shooting bow

Harmonic Damping System

Absorb recoil vibration in the riser

Limb Turrets

Spread the load in the limbs, making the bow more balanced

The absence of these suppressors will make the strings whiplash back and forth and vibrate upon release. They make the Z7 quieter and dead in the hands

Monkey tails

The Z7 comes standard with 4 monkey tails which minimize speed loss

Zebra Barracuda Bowstring

This bow comes with specialty red and brown Zebra Barracuda bowstrings and cables

Dead End String Stop

Reduces vibration and kills post release noise

Help in increasing speed

Z7 Solocam and QCA

According to Mathews, this is the smoothest Solocam they have ever produced and have now couple it with a new innovation; Quick Change Axle (QCA)

SE4 Composite Limb System

This system makes the limbs on Z7 bow thinner, lighter yet stronger.

Harmonic Stabilizer

Gives the bow optimum performance and dampens more than 75% residual vibration.

SlimFit Inline Grip

A distinctive red wood inlay on the grip shows the center line of the bow

Reverse Assist Roller Guard

Reduces friction for a smoother draw cycle.

Grid Lock Riser

Makes the riser stronger and lighter
